SAM - Systematic Abuse of Males

SAMonline aims to help prevent domestic abuse and provide support for males who suffer such abuse.
SAM actively promotes and supports safer family unity and child safety.

Let's Talk

Every Child Matters

At SAM, child safety is of paramount importance in all we aspire to. Children must come first.

Children are our future. It is a fundamental responsibility of parenting and of family unity that we do all we can to protect them, and provide proper guidance, support and care. Every child has the right to be loved and to grow and develop in a safe and secure domestic environment. If we fail to provide this, then we have failed them and their future also.

Each year, thousands of children witness domestic violence or abuse in all its forms. Violence and abuse that threatens the very core of family unity, scenes that negatively impacts upon the rest of their lives. The arguments, shouting,  swearing, threatening, ignoring, hitting, abandoning, name calling, all these actions negatively  impact upon children. Its a sad fact, that in many instances, like abused males, children suffer in silence.

“The first time I saw my mum beat dad I was stunned and ran away, I had to find somewhere to hide to pretend it wasn’t happening. Dad stood for all that was good and decent, strong and supportive, morally ustanding, he was a great role model. The attacks came in bursts, once mum hit him in the face with a kitchen stool. She broke his nose. I was petrified by the ferocity of the attacks, I begged her to stop, she would hit me too.”

SAM training covers child abuse and support needs, and provides (anonymous) case studies that reveals how domestic abuse affects children - domestically, socially and in an educational environment.

Part of our work in this area involves working with schools and colleges, their staff, trustees and boards of governors, and educating to protect. We also provide advisory safer recruitment training.

Now is the time to put a stop to child abuse, stand up and be counted and help us make a difference.
