Let's talk

SAM training

The subject of abused males has been shrouded beneath a cloak of silence and mystery for too long. SAM training demystifies the subject, bringing to the audience the reality and frequency of such abuse. Identifying male issues and dilemmas, helping attendees further develop their awareness and work towards best practice and solutions. Actions that can assist service providers to support those who have sought their help. By educating communities and professionals to protect, we can enhance knoweldge and raise awareness and do something positive in reducing the number of incidents of domestic violence or abuse.

SAM training is fully interactive with it's respective audience and includes: anonymous case studies, abused and abuser recollections, child perception. It is fully certificated and comes with its own unique workbook.

There are several elements to the training, each further assists the general understanding of the issues attached to abused males and their abusers. The seven programmes are designed to expand knowledge, raise awareness and promote problem solving and action. The independent  elements consist of:

Awareness raising relating to abused males:

Type of abuse, the signs (physical and non-physical), affects, statistics.  What service support provision is available and what can be done to make a difference

How
males are abused:

A variety of case studies, including perceptions of abused males regarding current service provision.

Sam's Tale (B):
A genuine case study of how male domestic abuse affected a young boy, and how he too suffered to both parents. how he appealed for help from the family doctor and from anyone who would listen. His cries and the signals went unheeded. Lessons to be learned
